Rolling hills
Hill country views: rolling land, a quiet park
Rolling, hilly countryside around the park: peaceful views and a quiet atmosphere, bluebonnets in spring.
Rolling country on every side of the gravel drive
Birthplace of Texas RV Park is set within a rolling, hilly countryside that gives it peaceful views and a quiet atmosphere. That sentence is how we have always described the place, and it is still the plainest way to say it. Step out of the rig in the morning and the land does the rest.
We sit on Highway 105 outside Brenham, between Navasota and the town, but you would not know it from the grass. The park is surrounded by rolling hills and mature trees that have witnessed nearly two centuries of Texas history, and the horizon beyond the fence is pasture and tree line rather than parking lots.
In spring the bluebonnets come up in the grass, and the photo on this page shows exactly that: blue flowers in the foreground, green hills and trees behind. In the evenings the sky over the tree line turns orange, which is the other thing guests tell us they stay up for.

Quiet campers who look out for each other
A view is only half of what a park feels like. The other half is who is parked next to you. Jane Gossett, a guest who stayed a month and planned two more, wrote that the park has "Great views in the country, quiet and friendly campers that seem to watch out for one another."
That matches what other reviewers say. Jeff Staton, who had been here almost a year when he wrote, put it this way: "It is beautiful and quiet here." Connie Waggoner Young wrote that her household had made the park their permanent home. People who stay for months are not looking for a party. They are looking for a place where the evenings are calm.
We keep the park leashed and pet friendly, and the quiet is part of why it works. Dogs on a leash, a lawn chair out front of the rig, and a sunset are about as busy as the evenings get here.
Ten minutes from where Texas independence was signed
The land around Brenham carries a lot of history, and our hills sit about ten minutes from Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site. The Declaration of Texas Independence was signed there in 1836. That is the reason this park carries the name it does, and why the park was born from a deep appreciation for the historic grounds of Washington-on-the-Brazos, where Texas independence began.
The oaks and the hills around the park are old enough to have seen it all. In the park's own words, the rolling hills and mature trees around your site have witnessed nearly two centuries of Texas history, and the park has been welcoming RVs among them since 2018.
If you want to see the hills for yourself, call us at (713) 306-4847 or send the reservation form. We are open 24 hours, and a quiet site with a long view is easier to plan for when you tell us how long you are staying.
