A Peaceful Stop in the Heart of Texas

Rolling hills, mature trees and a quiet that guests keep coming back to mention. Pull in for the night on your way across the state, or stay long enough to learn the neighbors.

“I cannot say enough about this small, peaceful place. Great views in the country, quiet and friendly campers that seem to watch out for one another. We've been here a month and plan on staying 2 more months.”

Washington-on-the-Brazos

Where Texas History Meets Scenic RV Living

The Declaration of Texas Independence was signed at Washington-on-the-Brazos in 1836, about a ten-minute drive from the park. Birthplace of Texas RV Park opened beside those historic grounds in 2018, born, in its own words, from a deep appreciation for the place where Texas independence began.

The rolling hills and mature trees around your site have witnessed nearly two centuries of Texas history.

The story of the park

Arriving off Highway 105

Look for the sign with the map of Texas on it.

Golden hour at the front of the park. Tap or hover a mark to see what you are looking at when you pull in.

Golden-hour sun over a row of fifth wheels and travel trailers on the gravel drive, the park's Texas-map sign and a flagpole at left
A small cabin under tall shade trees, mown grass in front and open pasture rolling away behind
Bluebonnets in the grass at the park, rolling green hills and trees beyond
