30 and 50 amp

Full Hookup RV Sites

Water, sewer, and 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups at every site, for one night or a long stay.

Three connections at every site

Every site at Birthplace of Texas RV Park is equipped with water, sewer, and 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups. That is the whole list of what you need to plug in and live comfortably, and it is the same list at every site on the property, so you are not asked to choose between a cheap spot without sewer and a better one with it.

Whether you are stopping overnight or settling in longer, you have the essential utilities for worry-free RV living. The park sits on Highway 105 between Navasota and Brenham, and the hookups are what turn a roadside stop into a place you can actually stay: showers, dishes, laundry in your own rig, and air conditioning running when the afternoon turns hot.

Match your rig to the pedestal before you plug in

Walk up to the power pedestal first and look at it. A site with both 30 and 50 amp service means the outlet that fits your cord is waiting for you: a 30 amp plug is the three-prong travel trailer standard, and the 50 amp plug is the four-prong used by most larger fifth wheels and motorhomes. If your rig is 50 amp and you ever need the 30 amp outlet, a proper adapter works, but remember you are then limited to what 30 amps can carry, so run the air conditioner and the microwave one at a time.

Before you connect, switch your rig's main breaker off, plug in, then switch it on. A surge protector or energy management system between the cord and the pedestal is cheap insurance for the electronics in your coach, and it will also tell you right away if the voltage is off. Check the outlet for scorch marks or a loose fit, which is good practice at any park anywhere, and tell the park if something looks wrong.

Water takes less thought but one habit: attach a pressure regulator at the spigot before the hose reaches your rig. Campground pressure can run higher than RV plumbing likes, and a regulator is a small part that protects the lines behind your walls.

Sewer and water for a night or for a season

A sewer connection at the site changes how a longer stay feels. Use a sturdy hose with a tight bayonet or threaded fitting, support it so it slopes downhill to the site's inlet, and keep the gate valve closed until the black tank is reasonably full so solids flush out with liquid. Rinse, close, and store the hose in its own bin away from your drinking water hose. Done once or twice a week, it is a five minute job.

Long stays are normal here. Guests have written that they have lived at the park for months, and one called it the place to be, "Regardless if it is long-term or overnight." With water, sewer, and power at the site, a month feels like home and a single night feels easy.
